The theme for this design was "An arrangement in a glass container", and for this, I've used a shallow round glass container. This design features "Crystal Accents" gel, which is a decorative product which when added to water, swells to form large crystals. It comes in several different colours, and looks wonderful in glass containers, especially when the sun catches it. Here, I've used Crystal Accents in white, adding a few green glass nuggets for effect. You can arrange flowers straight into the gel, but here I've used a pinholder for the mechanics. For the height, I've used three white Amaryllis (Hippeastrum), with two Fatshedera lizei 'Annamieke' leaves at the base on the left. On the right I've used two looped leaves of Phormium cookianum 'Yellow Wave'. At the front I've used two decorative brassicas (cabbages) with white foliage. (These were lightly glittered when I bought them.) Remember to add extra water to the container to form a reservoir at the base so that the plant materials can drink.
