This arrangement is a horizontal style, which would be suitable (scaled up or down) for a table centre, a wedding top table design, or even a funeral tribute. It is made in a rectangular plastic dish, with ¾ block of floral foam for the mechanics. (If a larger design was wanted, then a whole block may be used.) The length was established with Aspidistra elatior leaves, and the width and general shape with a mixture of Cotoneaster and Lonicera nitida. Filler foliage was Pittosporum tenuifolium. The flowers used were three green Leucadendrons for the focal area, white roses, pale green carnations, pale pink spray Carnations, pale pink double Lissianthus (syn. Eustoma), and cream Zantedeschias (Calla Lilies). Bear grass (Xerophyllum tenax) was arranged diagonally across the design, to give movement and a change of texture. An overhead view of the design can be seen below. |
